As many of you know from previous posts and commentary, I have a pet peeve on the continual inside baseball talk and hype on blogging. Bloggers blogging about blogs, I really don´t get it.
I know, blog consultants blog about blogs however, I don´t believe blog consultants are really in the business of blogs. To me, blogs are a means, not an end. As such they can only support an end, in this case an end of web strategy. And there are only two reasons to have a web strategy — to sell something or support something. Following my black-n-white logic, blogs can only exist to aid selling something or supporting something — they´re a tool. Try talking endlessly about a hammer day after day, it gets old and tiring.
So, in a completely hypocritical move, I´m opening a short series of posts on blogging. Why? I recently was profiled in a couple newspapers regarding business blogs and the use of blogs in my business. Since, I´ve been asked numerous times about blogs, their business use, how to get started, and best blogging practices. Over the next several days, I´ll publish a post on each topic. This post is to set the stage and admit my pending hypocrisy 🙂
