I wish I could take credit for this but the wife of a contractor client figured this out. They needed to have a standard agreement at the beginning of their proposals but, if they inserted the text into the template it would appear at the top of every page.
My client figured out that if she created an item with the legal text in the description and inserted it as the first item in the bid, it would only appear on the first page. Since the item would have a zero balance it would not be passed on to any invoices generated from the proposal. Here’s what the result looks like. While it’s not quite as attractive as the alternative above, it only appears in the first page of the proposal.
