Successful advertising evokes a response from the viewer. Whether that response is positive or not, really depends on the vehicle and the push, but a successful ad evokes an emotional response.
Now, as a consumer, we warily eye advertising, half afraid of our response and half-sure we won´t be giving one at all. However, as an advertising talent, we can´t eye ads enough. Each one we see may be the inspiration we need to carry us through the next client´s particularly difficult assignment.
If you are like me, and I know you are, you yearn to hear about the great campaigns (and the notorious ones), partially for the inspiration and partially for the enjoyment of the medium. Anyone who says advertising is boring is clearly talking about something else, because the advertising world I see is exciting, fresh and full of passion and it truly makes someone like me look forward to each day, just to soak up more creative ideas, funny spots and edgy viral and learn more about just what pushes that emotional response that creates a buy impetus.
This "Innovative Advertising´ blog will look at just that. We´ll chronicle the greatest (and worst) of today´s ad campaigns and we´ll pick them apart, as only hindsight´s 20/20 vision can do, and we´ll have a great deal of fun along the way.
