Here is an idea that anyone can try, and chances are it could lead to interesting twists on how you do business.
Gather together an eclectic group of business people, someone from a successful non profit and possibly academia. Limit this group to about 10 people.
Brainstorm ideas to grow your business – in a room for about 45 minutes. Find people who you know and trust – leaders in their field – but doesn’t need to be your field. In fact it will help you if they are not.
No answers are wrong. Write them all up on a white board or those huge sticky note pads. Buy everyone lunch or coffee – and see what happens.
Gather the ideas and don’t rule any out yet – keep the oversized paper or your notes and refer to these “crazy” or different ideas and see if and how you could incorporate one or two.
Get folks honest opinion about your business and how THEY would grow it.
Let me know if you do this and what the results. I’ll be glad to post any success stories.
