Yahoo posted an article this morning about the top professions in demand for the year of 2007. I know a lot of moms who are looking to change careers. Some want to work in the home, while others want a job that does not require such a large time commitment. This is especially true for mothers in business, who can average way more than the "normal´ 40 hours a week. This is tough when you have a child or several children at home, particularly if you want to remain available for appointments, activities, and school functions. And then there are those mothers that have hit burn out point, especially mothers in their thirties who spent a decade working in one field, had children, and then decided they wanted something new for a change.
So I thought I would pass on these professions to you. A few you could do out of the home, if you were interested in starting a home-based business. I know a lot of work at home mothers that are becoming web developers and freelance writers. If an immediate high salary is not important at this point, you can take time to build a great business. But in the beginning you might find yourself losing money as you build a company. If you decide to go into one of these two jobs with a company you´ll probably earn a lot more, but you won´t have the flexibility that working at home can sometimes provide.
