Are you missing opportunities with prospective clients that you’ve been pursuing for a while? Being a business owner doesn’t mean being on automatic. Recognize opportunities when they present themselves. It will make your life easier.
About a year ago, I met a woman at a networking function. We talked for a short time and exchanged business cards. The next month, she mailed me her monthly snail mail newsletter and I’ve been receiving
it ever since. She was interested in getting my business and wanted to keep her name in front of me. Not a bad thing.
Last week, I called her to reconnect and clarify her services with the idea that there may be a potential business opportunity for her. Guess what happened? She had her assistant call me back! How did that make
me feel? Unimportant. Will I call her again? No. Will she ever have another opportunity to do business with me? No.
How many opportunities have you missed lately?
What do you think? Did I get my nose out of joint for nothing? Leave me a comment.
