There are only 24 hours in a day, right? This is a fact and it’s the same for everyone. What is not the same for everyone is how those hours are spent. The Other 8 Hours (by Robert Pagliarini) is a book that deals with that so-called “spare time”. Assuming you have a day job that occupies 8 hours and you sleep for 8 hours, that leaves “the other 8 hours”. While this book does not focus entirely on a home based business, it is important to anyone trying to build a home business within a part time window.
In that scenario, you must make extremely efficient use of your other 8 hours. This is where lots of people have trouble, get lost, and eventually just give up. They just can’t seem to find time in that other 8 hours or they can’t bear to give up activities they’re doing in that spare time.
This book will challenge your thinking if you think you can’t possibly make any spare time in your other 8 hours. It will change your mind about the way you view your ‘spare time’. It will help you identify and deal with ‘LifeLeeches’, how to become a ‘Cre8tor’, and how to create a more financially fulfilling life in your spare time. Filled with relevant metaphors, this is a fun and enjoyable read.
Oh and if you’re thinking this is a time management book, think again. While there are some time management concepts discussed, it focuses mostly on personal growth and changing your assumptions. I can’t think of any other book that deals specifically with the topic of leveraging spare time for the goal of creating financial growth like this one does. This should be required reading for everyone starting a home based business on the side. Even seasoned home business pros can get something out of it. Worth a read!
