Last week, 300 professional women (and about 4 men) in Seattle got a treat of about 90 minutes of social media dynamo Mari Smith at an event called, Total Networking. I heard Mari on a panel over the summer but had not yet seen her in full turquoise regalia as keynote presenter. She was in her element.
Smith, who is President and Founder of the International Social Media Association (ISMA), is a top social media keynote speaker, consultant, and trainer with such enthusiasm and stories that she kept the audience captivated the entire time. Prior to her talk, she told me that she really wanted to add value while she was in town, and help to inspire those who are not yet sold on the value of social media – especially those involved in business-to-business selling.
With her Scottish-Canadian “wee” accent and her charming presentation style, we were laughing and thinking at the same time. In addition to a great PowerPoint presentation, she showed a video called Social Media Revolution that has a treasure trove of social media stats if you’ve not seen it before. Since this particular audience was a good mix of those who “get it” and those who definitely “do not” – I thought the conversation was, if nothing else, going to stick in people’s minds and perhaps open them a bit wider as they work to grow their revenues.
So how are you challenging yourself to learn more about social media?
