I explored Key West today and visited Hemingway’s home. Loved it! Anyway, it has been a long and enjoyable day, so this is going to be a short post. While roaming Hemingway’s hide-away, I could not help but feel inspired and invigorated – what a great spot he selected. This experience was made a bit more eery by the fact that my husband is a dead ringer (slight overstatement) for Hemingway.
Comtemplating his office, I could see that he set up his space to suit his writing fancies. His home and gardens looked as though they would facilitate greatness.
This is something important for us all to do as well. We need to establish a work environment where we can do our best work. While we may not be able to spring for a lovely compound in Key West (complete with dozens of six toed cats), we can all make small and not so small changes to enhance our work.
Here’s a picture I took of Hemingway’s office and one of his famous cats.
