To save money on shipping costs, first identify each step in your shipping process and list out the materials you need, such as boxes, tape, and bubble wrap. Ask yourself if you can eliminate any steps in order to make the entire process more economically efficient. Also keep a running total of what supplies you use and how much they cost. Search around for competitive pricing online or buy in bulk. And don’t be so quick to discard once-used materials such as boxes, cardboard tubes, and packing peanuts, as all of these items can be reused. Finally, if you have significant printing costs or are spending too much time writing out labels by hand, be aware that there is are software and color inkjet printers available for just about every application imaginable. You can print the labels right from your mailing list, which will save you both time and money.
