If you work at home, use these tips to increase your productivity by avoiding common pitfalls.
- Set up your office as far away from the television, kitchen, or other high-traffic areas as possible. If you are unable to do this, establish rules to keeps noise at a minimum during business hours.
- Limit the amount of time you surf the Web. Keep your browser window closed and open only your e-mail client. If you do need to browse, restrict yourself to the task at hand. You can also schedule “surfing time” during your slower hours.
