McDonald’s Corp. — in response to shareholder concerns — has agreed to survey and promote best practices toward reducing the use of pesticides within its potato supply chain in the United States. McDonald’s is the largest potato buyer in the country.
- Survey its U.S. potato suppliers
- Compile a list of best practices in pesticide reduction that will be recommended to the company’s global suppliers
- Communicate findings to shareholders and in its annual corporate social responsibility report.
As a result of this agreement, a shareholder resolution has been withdrawn. It had been filed by the Bard College Endowment, Newground Social Investment and the AFL-CIO Reserve Fund.
