HBO hit the streets of New York to create interest in the first season of Rome, out now on DVD. A Roman town crier announced the DVD’s release, accompanied by 34 Roman soldiers and a team of people that hand-delivered copies of the first season earlier this week. They awarded Tshirts and DVD sets to passersby that could answer Rome trivia as well.
The street teams also gave out maps marked with the location of stores that sold the DVDs. Interference (NY) handled the concept and efforts. TV, online and print ads were handled by Venables, Bell and Partners in San Fran (print) and PHD Network in NY (media buying). (via)
