Cut your training budget? Having been through a few financial downturns, I’ve seen numerous times when companies work to cut costs (a good practice) yet often one of the very first things to go is the training budget. Now that can be fine if there is no real ROI associated with the training, but when the sales team budget is cut, and it is an effective program helping sales reps create new revenues through skill development and creative strategies, it can be a real loss of dollars, now and in the future , to a business.
I believe it is unwise to cut valuable, result-focused sales training from your budget.
At the same time, I recognize that people do it anyway.
