Monday is another season finale for Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” series. Although I fail to see the allure of the program, it seems to capture the interest of many.
Most small business owners who start their business do it on a shoe string. They don’t have the luxury of a bunch of bucks or networks of people to help springboard them to immediate success. That’s why Trump’s apprentice is not “reality” to me. I’ve seen way too many of you struggle along. And a lot of you don’t make it.
But I do have to give him credit on offering a valuable alternative to small business owners. His new Trump University is a good start in offering cost effective advice to small business owners. It has three main learning tracks — Real Estate, Entrepreneurship and Business Management, along with a section on Wealth Management and offers courses in a variety of formats (audio, ebook, online course). TrumpU has also started up some community forums and you can even get your personal dose of advice from “The Donald” by reading his blog.
All in all, it looks like a good venture that will continue to grow synonymous with his brand. For small business owners, it’s value looks like a much better option than sitting in front of the tube.
