Green isn’t just a color – it’s a mindset. And this time it appears to be here to stay. Even retailers are beginning to see Green.
The other day I was in a party store and saw that they had a “Green Section.” It was interesting because the items being sold in that section weren’t necessarily what you might consider green items, but the store had chosen to merchandise them that way.
For example, there were some plastic glasses with poems on them. The quality was higher than typical store-bought plastic glassware. They appeared to be something you would buy as a gift and that would not be discarded quickly. The items could have been in other sections of the store, merchandised as novelties or gifts, but the management chose to merchandise them as Green.
Clearly the management of this store was thinking “Green outside the box”. If you are a retail manager, can you think of anything that supports green practices? If so you can become part of the green business movement and at the same time profit from it.
