“The Green Supply Chain” is a study sponsored by IBM, Manhatten Associates, and CSC Consulting, that was carried about by both The Supply Chain Management Review and Logistics Management. They questioned 250 supply chain/logistic managers and found that companies are interested in implementing environmental initiatives, as long as the initiatives generate real returns.
High costs were reported as the number one reason for slowing green progress, but 50% of respondents did work for organizations with corporate sustainability plans. The majority of respondents were focusing on waste reduction throughout their organizations, with most companies having a senior executive in charge of sustainability.
