There is a lot of noise about social networking and for many people, confusion over which sites to get involved with, how much time to spend on them, and how many to participate in. For those who are building a business it can be frustrating due to the time needed to create a virtual presence.
Many of us have done this over time and so it has not been as crazy for us – but I still find myself scratching my head to determine whether to beef up one profile or spend more time within another site.
First of all, simply posting a profile, at no cost to you, will help you in your Google rankings. Whatever you put under your name in your profile – the title you choose, will find its way to a high ranking (everytime I have checked on this) and if nothing else, you need to do that.
Secondly, there are amazing events that you can offer and you can attend. The community decides if it is valuable because you post your event and people either sign up or the don’t. You can charge a fee, or you can offer a free workshop, meeting, or social event to get to know other free agents in your local area. It is a great connector to meet people who could be potential referral partners or who you could hire for services ranging from creative to financial to, well, anything.
Third, I love how members can post articles now. These articles are another way to get visibility and a way for you to shine as an expert. They are NOT promotional, but rather helpful knowledge covering many topics.
I cannot think of a reason that someone in their own business or anyone providing services would not want to get their profile on Biznik, and to support the cause with a nominal subscription.
Check this one out….. it could be one of your best business moves this quarter.
