I was looking through my flagged posts for some inspiration and realized that I have flagged a lot of posts from one blog. So here are several great links from Tom, over at Management Skills. I like the way Tom offers a message within a story – makes it interesting and more real.
This first post is called, What’s Your Discipline, and it is about time management. Here’s a taste:
"The modern American manager gets interrupted every nine minutes. It is not unusual for you to have multiple tasks going on simultaneously. But the principle is still the principle."
This post is called, No Pizza. It is short but VERY sweet.
This one is called, You Have to Stay Off the Field. The title says it all. Here’s a snippet:
"Look, Howard, you are a Manager. You are now the coach who cannot step on to the field without getting a penalty flag."
And this one is called, It’s a Trap, which focuses on delegation.
And Finally, here is Push Me and I’ll Go Faster.
"I was on Henrik´s wheel. We had eight miles to go with 43 miles behind us. I was thinking, as long as Henrik kept this pace, I could hang on. If he went faster, I was toast. One thing was certain. I could not handle another shift on the front. My legs were rubber."
