If you have a home based business website, how does it compete? How good is it? What are some areas for improvement? If you had someone else build your website, you may not know the answer to these questions. And many people (including me) do hire web designers to do the ‘grunt work’ on the website.
Website Grader is a terrific resource site that ‘grades’ your website on a number of components. It will give you an overall grade (from 1 to 100) as well as lots of useful tidbits about your site. For example, it will analyze your title, your meta data, your recent content, inbound links and other data. If your site is a blog, you will get a separate grade for your blog ranked by Blog Grader. It will tell you when Google last crawled your site and how many pages are indexed in Google’s index.
Sometimes your own analysis of your website is somewhat different than an independent evaluation. I suppose there is a bias there isn’t there? This is free by the way – the only thing you need is a URL and your email address. You can also put your competitor’s website. What a great way to find out how you stack up against your competitors!
So if you have a home based business website or any website for that matter, give it a try. You’ll be surprised at some of the things you will discover with this tool.
