Short post here about a slightly dated news item: Google Top 1,000 Sites.
If you’re looking for ideas for advertising and what sites are heavily trafficked, this is a helpful little resource. Well, a big resource.
You can find the full details here at Google’s DoubleClick AdPlanner site.
Facebook, Yahoo, Live, Wikipedia are the top four.
Of course, you can get to some of the same info in Google’s Adwords tools using their Content Network. You have to manually search for your terms and then Google’s tools will tell you which content sites match your keywords and areas of interest and you can pick which ones you’d like your ads to show on. Many of these sites accept text ads (the standard Google Ad) and also display ads. Google has also built a neat new tool to help you quickly and easily create your own display ads. It is fast and easy. Templates and no amazing original high end stuff, but would you expect that? Probably not.
Some of you might just want to go direct to these large sites and request banner ad info so this list gives you a good starting point.
