One of the most bedeviling aspects of emotional intelligence is helping people figure out how to grow their own.
That is, it’s easy to say that having more business EQ will help you be happier, have more satisfying relationships, and perform better in the work place.
But showing people how to actually increase their emotional intelligence isn’t so easy — because it has to do with emotions, self awareness, and learning, a lot of times, to deal strategically rather than reactively with certain situations.
I stumbled across this short blog post on improving EQ this morning though, on a website called the Earthpages website. I like author “Pramilia’s” emphasis on stress reduction, as I think it’s pretty clear that when we’re stressed — or angry, or anxious, or distracted — it can be hard to monitor either our emotions or our behavior.
Give it a quick read. I promise it’s short.
