You know that knot in your stomach, the one you get every time you look at the gas gauge, and the needle is sitting on E? You cringe knowing how much this is going to hurt your wallet. That knot gets even worst though, as soon as you drive up to the gas station, and see that the price is actually higher then it was that morning.
Now imagine you own a tow-truck company. Dan Johnson, owner of Johnson’s towing in Bellingham, must have had a knot the size of Texas every time he has to fill up his 8 tow trucks. He could have just shrugged his shoulders though, and passed the costs along to his customers, let them figure out how to find the extra money. Instead, he bought his own biodiesel machine. At a cost of approximately $2.00 a gallon, Johnson will use recycled vegetable oil to make biodiesel. His machine can produce 90 gallons in an 8- hour period.
Can you even remember the last time we paid $2.00 a gallon?
