Saying that you need to track goals is a whole bunch easier than doing it for most people. Take a minute and answer the statements below.
How have you tracked achievement of objectives and goals in the past?
1. I do it
2. Joe does it
3. We haven’t done any real tracking
4. It’s an impossible challenge, we just focus on getting through the day
And how successful have you been at meeting your goals?
1. We don’t know
2. Can meet them sometimes
3. Haven’t given it much thought
4. Never meet them
So how do you know if you were successful?
1. No one complains
2. Someone calls and says they’re missing something
See any trends? If you’re not tracking your goals (you do have them, don’t you?) any road will lead to success (or failure!). It’s important for you to understand the value of measurement when committing to goals and how they relate to your business survival. If you’re leaving it to chance, it will never get done. Make sure you check on your goals at least once a month (once a week is better). They you’ll see the proof of how well your business can do.
If you’re the kind of person who needs someone to prod you to get your goals done, check out the My Goals System. It may be just what you are looking for.
What about you? Do you have goals? Do you track them? How often? What kind of business results have you seen? Leave me a message and tell me about it.
