A friend of mine, a successful entrepreneur and consultant, Michael
Forney, very recently recommended this book to me. He has its laws at the heart
of his new consulting company, Level 7
Partners. He and one of his managing partners, Brett Eddy, were so enthusiastic
that I couldn’t help going to get to the book that day.
I’ve read a lot of self-help books, motivational business books,
success-principle books and a host of other types to jumpstart my business or that
of my clients.
The concepts, the laws in the book make total sense. In a nutshell,
give more than you get. While this is easy to say, it is not easy to do. And I say
that with the knowledge that I really believe I give more frequently than average…
But I don’t. I have a lot to learn. This short book is quite
motivational and shares good instruction, good steps to get there. And i see more ideas like this germinating all around the web right now. I just commented over at Dr. Susan L Reid’s post on Top 10 Resolutions for a More Profitable 2009 and in my comment I just had to mention the Go Giver book.
Bob Burg and John David Mann have created a fine work in The Go Giver. They offer a free chapter and while I didn’t see it on their page, I’m sure you can buy it at that little company that starts with an A…
More impressive, is the blog that these authors have put up.
This post alone is inspirational about a new dry cleaning business that decided
to give more. Take
a read and start the new year of 2009 with a big heart.
Happy New Year.
