The right keywords are important when it comes to inbound links. This is Search Engine Marketing 101. But if you have tried to get inbound links lately, you know how hard it is nowadays. One easy way to get inbound links is to comment on other people’s blogs – particularly blogs that are ranked well and have high traffic.
One problem with this method of getting inbound links is that usually, the only text that gets linked is your name. For example, if I comment on a blog and put in “Frank Ross” along with this website, the anchor text of the link (the important part) would be “Frank Ross”. This gives a link with no keywords in the anchor text. Limited value.
A clever WordPress plug-in is out there called “Keyword Luv”. It allows you to put your name followed by a keyword or keyword phrase of your choice. Then the keyword would become the anchor text of the link – not the name. In the example above, if I put in “Frank Ross@ Home Based Business” as my comment name in a blog that has Keyword Luv, the term “Home Based Business” would be the anchor text for my link. It’s worth mentioning that this is a WordPress plug-in as mentioned so it only works on WordPress blogs. However there are loads of them out there!
Here is a blog that attempts to list blogs that have Keyword Luv installed. It is far from complete however. I discovered Keyword Luv on a high traffic blog that wasn’t even listed here. You can also find a lot of comments and many of those blogs have Keyword Luv installed.
Getting inbound links is a challenge for a home based business on a tight budget. Like real estate, the value of links just keeps going up and you have to work harder or pay more to get them. This gives you a simple, inexpensive way to get quality inbound links. And as though you need a reminder: don’t spam! Provide quality comments that add value to the content. That way you earn your inbound link with these blogs.
