Just a quick pointer to those who might be interested. My friend Darryl has volunteered to be the initial Art Director for a new magazine called Geez. If you like Adbusters, or if you like Buy Nothing Christmas, or if you like Sojourners, I bet you’d like Geez.
Geez’s (Geez’s/Jesus, get it?) motto is "an alter call from the fringes of faith." They’ll be examining the space of social change, lamenting the loss of meaning for the benefit of convenience, and providing a little "chicken poop for the soul." You know, light hearted stuff like that. 🙂
The mag is looking for submissions, ideas and, of course, money. Free money is best, but I bet they’re willling to hear your pitch. Subscriptions always welcome, of course. First 200 subscribers get half off the cover price and become charter subscribers (I think you’ll have to make your own laminated card, though).
The two founders have a couple of sample articles here, just so you can get a sense of the flavor. Good stuff, if you ask me.
