Want to free up time for your home based business? Or maybe you are considering starting a home based business, but don’t know where you’ll find the time? Here’s a New Year tip for you: pull the plug the television! It’s filled with distractions and let’s face it; it does do a good job at distracting people.
If you want to keep your cable / satellite service, try learning to ration how much time you spend in front of it. Every hour spent in front of the TV screen is an hour you can’t spend on your home based business. This takes some discipline and some commitment on your part.
There is very little ‘business worthy’ content on cable, if any. Do you really need to watch those “Reality Shows”?
And if you have shows you absolutely must watch, invest in a DVR to record them. Then watch them later. Ok even I watch TV (the last season of Lost is a must-see for me) but I DVR what I want to watch and schedule the time to watch them.
If the TV time is not scheduled, controlled, or done away with, how will you find time for your home business? I hear so many people use that as an excuse for not starting a business (“I don’t have enough time”). But they seldom realize how much time they spend in front of the TV. How about you? Do you have tips to share about balancing TV viewing with your home business?
