Sure it is easier said than done – focus on your strengths, or assets – and play down those negatives, or deficits, in these crazy economic times. But right now it is more than just a good idea, my friend – it needs to become your way of life for this year. Why? Because prospective customers and clients are not attracted to fear, low energy, or tentativeness. They are repelled by it.
Think of yourself as a consumer. Do you want to be around fearful, unsure people who are proposing ideas, products, and services to you? No – we want to be energized, informed, enthused, admired, and interracted with.
Start thinking about what you are reading every day – the news, perhaps? What are you watching on TV? News programs focus on the negative and how bad things are.
Turn the news off! Find good stories to read and good people to relate to in person or via the web.
Start with yourself first – focus inward and look to what is great about your life, your work, and those around you. Stay away from naysayers….. they will only bring you down. Stay real, and move forward…. rather than being an unrealistic “Susie Sunshine” – I am talking more about focusing on the positives and reduce those negatives.
