Ever arrived at a destination after a flight and felt wrecked. It may be that you spent the time in the air in a state of tension (nervous neighbours, turbulence and those annoying video screens attached to the back of the seat in front of you means that a constant bombardment of advertising and temptation is always just inches from you face).
Doesn’t make for a relaxed state of mind. Next time try the following tips to help you arrive in a calm and relaxed state, ready for that meeting.
- Retreat into your own world: Put on headphones, plug into relaxing music (this may not be the time to bop to thrash metal) and close your eyes. Tune everything out. The human psyche naturally wants to relax in my view, let’s tap into that.
- Bring a favourite food: For some, trying to chew on the airline food is a stressful experience. Bring a favourite snack and be comforted if that is what you require.
- Meditate or relax: Bring a book on relaxation and try the exercises or meditate if you know how.
