Here are a few interesting links to spice up your Friday!
Here’s an interesting article from the HBS Working Knowledge about the notion of job sharing among executives. As we become more concerned with quality of life issues, I think we will see more execs job sharing. Personally, I would love it because I like being connected to a corporation AND I like working on my own projects.
Bren over at Slacker Manager alerted us to this new and regular podcast called, The Cranky Middle Manager. Bren had not listened to it, but with a title like “Cranky Middle Manager,” I just had to. This is their first podcast and it is a new series, so I am excited to see this kind of a podcast. The content of the first one was pretty good. The PJ (I don’t know what they are called, but Pod Jockey seems right) was a bit cranky himself and seemed to spend a bit more time than necessary challenging his guest. His style for this interview was very “yes but” which ironically was part of the topic the guest was talking about. The guest was unremarkable (not sure if it was the guest or the awkward questions). They also did a book review, which was entertaining and pretty darned negative (yikes, hopefully mine is not next!). Anyway, it’s 38 minutes, but might be an interesting listen for you over your bologna and pickle sandwich. I intend to keep listening to what they are doing as they build their show.
I also want to thank “Jane” over at the Lip-Sticking blog for making little ole me her “Smart Woman Online” interview subject. She asked several questions about my blog, my book, and my shopping habits. Check it out!
