The paperless office never did come about,
did it? I have tried and failed dismally to make my office paperless, but the
most I have done is decrease the amount I use – mostly by using both sides of
paper and using electronic storage and delivery wherever possible.
Over to the paper producers then: Xerox has
come up with a more environmentally friendly digital printing paper that, they
claim, uses fewer trees, chemicals and energy. Its calle the Xerox High Yield
Business Paper and uses 90% of the tree instead of the usual 45%; the plant
that makes it uses hydroelectricity and less water in production.
The paper is also 10% lighter and works on
certain Xerox printing and production machines. The only down side is that it
may yellow as it ages. The up side is that it doesn’t not curl like most paper.
