Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. is developing a new chain of eco-friendly hotels. The Element is planning on being the eco-chic name in extended stay hotels, with 20 LEED certified hotels planned for opening by the end of 2009
We won’t be able to add Element to our collection of little soaps though, they’ll be using refillable dispensers, and don’t expect bottles of Perrier in the fridge, every room will have filtered water. VIP parking will be available only to guests driving hybrids, and the do not disturb signs will be long lasting magnets, instead of the usual plastic or cardboard. One of Element’s main design features will be the use of natural light throughout the building, including a proposed 16-foot “window wall”.
I’m just glad I’m not the one who has to clean the window wall; I always leave streaks.
