Many eBay sellers are still fuming about the recent round of changes announced recently. But lost in all that smoke and haze is some good news. Along with these changes has come a rewards program for eBay PowerSellers.
For the first time, eBay is offering a discount program on the Final Value fee. The Final Value fee is the chunk that eBay takes out of the final sale. This is one of the larger expenditures of selling on eBay, so it’s good news that eBay is finally allowing sellers some discount room on this.
The discounts are performance based. PowerSellers who maintain a Detail Seller Rating (DSR) of 4.6 (based on the last 30 days of ratings) will receive a Final Value Fee discount of 5%. PowerSellers who maintain a DSR of 4.8 (based on the last 30 days of ratings) will receive a Final Value Fee discount of 15%.
This still doesn’t make eBay a scalable business which has long been a complaint among some larger sellers. The discounts are not volume based and therefore have the same percentage effect whether your final value fees are $50 per month or $5,000 per month. However it is a step in the direction of rewarding sellers who perform above average in the area of customer satisfaction.
So if your home based business resides on eBay, this is the time to work on those DSRs. Getting them up to at least 4.6 will put money back in your pocket! You can read full details on the eBay sellers discounts at the link below.
