If you’re selling physical products as your home-based business, do you attend trade shows? I blogged earlier this year about Making the Most of a Trade Show. There are lots of great trade shows coming up like the one in Las Vegas and the one right here in Seattle. Make sure you keep the trade show directory because it can serve at least two purposes (aside from being your guide to the trade show).
Product Research – You can use them for product research. These directories are usually arranged in various ways, often by product type and again by product brand name. Either way works great for getting ideas about types of products that might be sold in your home-based business online.
Product Sourcing – Not only do they list the product groups that are available, but these directories will show you exactly who to contact to buy them. Even if the trade show is held in a far-away place, you can still contact those reps. They’ll be happy to put you in touch with your local contact or if there is no local contact, you can usually buy from them directly.
Trade shows are usually hyper-busy events and you just can’t take in everything. But keeping the directory on file can provide value to you long after the trade show ends.
