There’s nothing like the word no to stop a journalist’s outreach. Here are some things you should practice saying YES too!
1. A call comes in for a simple quote on a story. Say “Yes” I would love to give a quote!
2. Your PR rep says a publication wants to do a case study around your company, but your PR person is worried it might take up too much of your time.
Hint! – Don’t say NO when a publication wants to do a case study! It’s free press, they usually are tapping your company because they’ve already pitched it to the editor and it’s a go and your company will be highlighted in how they did things right!
3. Your local company is asked to sponsor the local Relay for Life event or and Autism event. Don’t say NO. Take even $100 and donate water bottles. Do whatever you can to participate in your community events.
Practice saying YES when you’re queried. Treat journalists like you would your customers and they’ll keep returning!
