Mobile – yes, by that I am talking about smart phones. It seems that many of us have underestimated how the growing number of smart phones are changing how we connect with others and how we can potentially grow our relationships and ultimately our revenues. Just take a look at some of the stats at Pivotal Veracity.
Among other things, they make a case for the day when more people open and interact with email on a handheld than any other device is soon approaching –
They also mention that internet-connected mobile devices outnumber desktops by 10:1. 10 to 1! Adoption rates are huge, and we are witnessing unprecedented growth in this segment of computing.
I know for myself – I can access LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter apps right from my phone – in a touch of a button, while waiting in line, in-between meetings, or elsewhere on the road (but not while driving!). It has CHANGED the way I do business – I reply faster, and have brought more sales opportunities to closure because of this.
I’ve also seen myself and others turn into bad e-mailers – we see an email, and maybe do a quick reply – but then need to do a more in-depth reply and that does not get logged in as a next action for me. Plusses and minuses. Perhaps I have lost business because of this.
How is it a game changer for you and your business?
