There’s a lot of talk about Green Business these days. Green isn’t a fad either; it’s here to stay. Green Business refers to many things, but it can mean sound environment practices woven in with conducting business. How green is your home based business?
Well home based businesses tend to be Green Businesses by default since we’re working from home and not contributing to greenhouse gases via commuting. But what about your printing habits? Printing of course uses paper and toner/ink resources.
I started reviewing my own printing practices and found many places where I could cut back or eliminate printing. For example, I was printing out a copy of service provider invoices to mail along with their payments. Then I thought, well why do I need to do that? Why not just note the invoice number on the check and send it along without? If there’s a question about the invoice, I have an electronic copy anyway.
Which leads me to my next question about printing. Can it be saved on disk rather than printed to paper? Sometimes we need to print, but often an electronic copy will do just find. So just ask: Do I really need to print all that stuff?
