The Internet seems to be a daily source of new terms, at least to me. One that I hadn’t heard before is Brand Advocate, a reference to people who buy things online and who also give or seek advice about online purchases.
To learn more about these Brand Advocates, the Retail Advertising & Marketing Association and BIGresearch dug into the subject. In December, Yahoo released a study called “Engaging Advocates Through Search and Social Media.” The Yahoo effort defined Brand Advocates.
Not to be a tease, but it is Saturday — and most people are probably enjoying the weekend, so I will reserve the results of these studies until next week when more of you will be paying attention. But suffice it say for now that retailers ought to sit up and take notice of Brand Advocates.
Not only are they an influential group, they also are spenders.
Stayed tuned for some interesting findings. Meanwhile, enjoy your weekend, and rest assured that I will return to this subject on Monday.
