The Center for Women’s Business Research released a report in 2007 called Financing Business Growth and in it they identified key traits that were evident in women whose businesses took in an annual revenue of $1 million or more. Take a look at some of these and ask yourself, Do I have what it takes to succeed?
They have a growth strategy. As you know if you’ve been reading my posts, I’m adamant about a business owner defining her goals. You have to plan for growth, know where you want to go and how you are going to get there. Even if you do not have a written business plan, you should have this growth plan in place.
Sell your products and services to businesses, not just to consumers. Women who took in more than a million were more likely to sell to businesses.
Most women who hit that million dollar mark continue to educate themselves through workshops and classes.
If you aren’t doing these three things, think about how you can change your plan right now so that you are.
