Nothing makes for a great retail experience like a great store design. Alas as small retailers, we don’t always have the budgets to improve our store design to the level we’d like.
However, we can dream a little. And get inspired at the same time.
I was reading a copy of Display and Design Ideas Magazine yesterday and forgot what a great tool this magazine is.
Mainly focused on larger stores and chains, this publication is an amazing resource for design elements and ideas. It features articles and trend information which is always important, as well as a host of ads for everything from fixture companies to signage companies, flooring to lighting and everything else you need for inside your store — and those are things that you do need and can afford. They even have an annual sourcebook filled with hundreds of retail suppliers.
THE REAL WORLD TAKEAWAY
I like the magazine simply for its insight. It usually features several store concepts (maybe you’ll find one in your category of business) and I’m continually showing clients a page or two from each issue because it’s relevant to their business.
One magazine isn’t the only place to find inspiration. But it’s a start.
