You’ve heard about location, location, location when it comes to real estate? Well, with Deb Evans, it’s support, support, and support—and I could easily add excitement, innovation, passion, enthusiasm, and commitment! Usually, company presidents help set the culture of the organization; in Deb’s case, she is the culture—and not a single EXPLORER would disagree!
OK, so here we are again with the chicken or the egg, innate or acquired, shaken not stirred (another article about how James Bond epitomizes the 10 immutable characteristics of a leader. . .) question as to the origins of greatness. I always lean towards innate—how someone came out of the egg—and Deb Evans came out to lead.
COMPUTER EXPLORERS, celebrating their 25th anniversary, started in 1984 to dial down technology to the preschool and day-care level, and it turned out to be a passion Deb embraced completely when she joined the company as an instructor, became a franchisee, and then decided president would be a good fit.

It’s impossible not to embrace her enthusiasm for her organization and their mission; and to not want to follow Deb up the hill—that’s what great leaders do best!
But technology as a franchise business? Who really understands technology, anyway? (sounds like Andy Rooney). And if you do, you may not possess the human side of the equation; the ability to educate your students, and to market your business. No problem (a phrase that I would guess is part of Deb’s everyday conversation)—COMPUTER EXPLORERS has all the training and motivational tools you need to give you the technical expertise of Bill Gates with the marketing skills of Steven Jobs.

Well, that’s an introduction to CE. Will there will be more about Deb Evans and COMPUTER EXPLORERS on The Franchise Show in the future? Do bears live in the woods?
