If you’re selling products on the web as your home-based business, you might be starting to get a few returns right about now. It’s almost inevitable, especially if you sell items that can be given as gifts.
One way to get rid of these returns is to put them up for sale on eBay. Using eBay 3-day auctions, you can have them back out to other customers in just a few days. Make sure you state whether each item is new or has been opened. If it was opened, you can’t sell it as new, but you can use terms like “almost new” or “opened but not used” to help sell it. eBay has the advantage of letting you put your return items in front of a lot potential buyers quickly.
Another way to get rid of your holiday returns is to set up a clearance page on your website and use your returns as clearance items. Many people are attracted to clearance items and will shop sites that have these kinds of pages. Again, make sure you state whether the item is new or has been opened. Putting them up as clearance items has the advantage of letting you set the price, plus you won’t have to pay any eBay fees. It may take longer to turn them around this way, however.
So don’t let those Holiday returns pile up – take action to get them back out the door!
