A good piece in Small Business Review on how some small business owners have dealt with employees who are late for work.
The main point: deal with the behavior, not the employee. Start by sitting down with the employee, and also see if something has changed. Is the employee unhappy with the job, or unhappy in general? Is something going on at home? You want to come away with the employee having a plan to be on time – a simple threat of discipline doesn’t change the behavior.
