Text Link Ads has entered an increasingly tight marketplace. They are offering up text link ads (obviously LOL), but they are in competition for the limited advertising budget that companies spend online, including contextual, site targeted and classifieds. Therefore, this startup has to compete with the likes of Google, Yahoo, MSN, BlogAds, Chitika, AdBrite and all the other flavors of online advertising.
They know that this late in the ballgame they are out of their league unless they find someway to differentiate themselves, and fast. They’ve chosen to be the publisher’s best friend, by providing useful AND fun tools to deepen web ad sales.
Two of their latest tools:
Feedvertiser: This easy to use, but highly configurable, RSS feed monetization method is simply beautiful. They’ve created a way to monetize feeds using your own ads, their ads or a combination of the two. When you compare that to Yahoo’s, Google’s and Feedburner’s feed monetization the big boys come up sorely lacking.
Blog Juice Calculator: This one is part fun, part bragging rights. The Blog Juice Calculator gives you a juice estimate to place in your sidebar so others can know just how important a link from your blog is to them. I love it! (and, looking at the del.icio.us links in, many other bloggers like it too).
How can publishers NOT check them out? Determining what makes publishers happy and then actually going out and delivering it is what Text Link Ads is doing to ensure their seat at the table.
