CraigsList is good for a lot of things. And it can also be a resource for your home based business. If you have a website for your home business, chances are you need web design help (unless of course you’re a web designer yourself). You could go through freelance websites like Get a Freelancer or ELance. Or if you want to skip their bidding and selection process (and save some money) try using CraigsList.
CraigsList has a “services” category and a “computer” sub category underneath it. There are actually a lot of ads under this category but a large percentage of them will be for web design services. The biggest problem with looking for Web Design help on CraigsList will be having too much to chose from!
Some tips for using CraigsList however. Be careful of anyone who wants too much money up front for their services. Asking for some sort of deposit is probably acceptable but don’t pay the too much before you get any work done. Also, people who advertise on freelance sites like the ones mentioned above, are pre-qualified to some extent. That is not going to be the case with people you hire off of CraigsList. One more thing, make sure you get an agreement (in writing) that you will take possession of all the source code and art work when the job is finished. That way if you need more work done on your site in the future, but don’t want to rehire that person, you can pass the job along to someone else.
With a bit of careful selection, you can find some inexpensive, talented web designers on CraigsList to assist with your technical web design issues.
