One of the least expensive and most effective ways to get your brand in front of more people is to join forces with another company. I recently saw it with Moo and Flickr, and then again with Moo and Skype. But today’s co-marketing innovation goes a step further and takes two smaller web 2.0 companies and sees them integrating their marketing in a more subtle way.
I’m a happy Meebo customer, username: Duzins. Well, customer is probably stretching it, as Meebo is a free service, but I can’t stress how much I love the fact that this IM client is browser-based so I can check all my IMs from any computer without downloads. I’ve been using Meebo for a year or so.
Everytime I sign onto Meebo, I get a pop-under of their blog. I usually skim it if it’s new and then go about my IMing way. However, over the weekend I noticed the post that talked about adding Meebo Me to your Traineo profile. I’d never heard of Traineo so I checked them out and they are a perfect fit for someone like me who’s trying to lose some holiday weight. Hold the phone… Everyone’s trying to lose holiday weight. Their timing is perfectly timed to take advantage of the big January weight loss and organization planning we see every year. Were I not a marketer I’d likely not have noticed the carefully planned blogvertisement. Very smart…
I signed up for a Traineo account and spent an hour, yes an hour, adding myself to groups, checking out the service, etc. and I have to say it’s a deep, immersive environment that makes you yearn to stay and be a part of the community. You can connect to me at duzins.traineo.com. I’m interviewing their CEO tomorrow, so I’ll post the podcast here when I have it.
Traineo and Meebo are perfect partners and I am now a happy member of both services.
