If you have a home based business or are considering starting one, you probably know that an email list is essential to your marketing strategy. An email list of course, is a list of addresses that you will send to. But how do you send to that group? That’s where an autoresponder comes in.
An autoresponder is a program that automatically manages the sending of emails to groups. It automatically manages the details of your email campaign, such as sending the messages in the right order, the right interval, and taking care of the various subscriber details. Here are some things to consider when looking for an autoresponder for your home business
Autoresponder program versus autoresponder service – You can purchase an autoresponder and install it on your hosted server. But most people who start out (and even many seasoned marketers) just use an autoresponder service. That’s an autoresponder that is hosted on someone else’s server and you pay a monthly fee for it. Examples of autoresponder services are Aweber and GetResponse.
Tracking Statistics – Make sure your autoresponder lets you track your email campaign responses. If you can’t track the responses, you won’t be able to tell whether your email messages are effective or not.
Blacklist – Make sure you don’t sign on with an autoresponder service or hosting company that is blacklisted by spam watch groups. If it is, your emails won’t get through no matter how well crafted they are.
Export and Import – You should have the ability to export and import email lists. Many services don’t allow this but there are legitimate reasons to import or export a list. An example of a good reason would be when you want to move your list to another autoresponder.
An autoresponder is a useful tool in your home business marketing strategy. It lets you maintain contact with your clients, attract new clients, and deliver important information to them. Make sure you choose the right autoresponder that will fit your needs.
