Bob Bly’s newsletter had some interesting analysis this morning.
He wrote about a study that tested “order now” buttons with respect to color choices. One was designed with navy blue letters and a dark orange background. The other had black type on a red background. The navy and orange button pulled 27% more orders than the red and black one.
The lesson – color choices make a profound difference in your sales and response rates.
The study deduced that red in the button communicated a ‘stop’ response in the minds of the shoppers.
Good stuff. Thanks for uncovering that intriguing tid-bit, Bob. From Bob’s site: “Bob Bly is an independent copywriter and consultant with more than 25 years experience in business-to-business, high-tech, industrial, and direct marketing.”
