During IDC Canada’s “You, Me and Green IT” conference in Toronto, we heard some good news and some bad news. The bad news of course being all the statistics regarding IT’s heavy energy use, but the good news is that in one survey, 75% of CIO’s reported making some investment in greener equipment. Their biggest obstacle is lack of information. Businesses want to see more information on what they’re supposed to do and why they’re supposed to do it.
The conference actually provided quite a bit of that information. With speakers from The National Roundtable on the Environment, IBM, and Telus, the discussions were wide-ranging and vibrant.
